ITA  Insula è un progetto di textile design sviluppato per Lanificio Leo, la più antica fabbrica tessile calabrese calabrese. Un pattern infinitamente componibile e replicabile, dove la scala dell’abitare domestico e quella dell’abitare urbano trovano sintesi  nell’intreccio tessile. Il motivo del plaid è ispirato al tessuto urbanistico delle antiche città romane, costituito da elementi modulari, le insule appunto, gli antenati dei contemporanei palazzi popolari. Testimonianze storiche e archeologiche nella trama urbana di colonie e insediamenti militari nel Mediterraneo, rendono Insula un elemento unificante ed universale che collega diverse aree geografiche.

ENG Insula is a textile design project developed for Lanificio Leo, the oldest textile factory in Calabria. It features an infinitely modular and repeatable pattern, where the scale of domestic living and urban dwelling come together through woven design. The plaid motif is inspired by the urban fabric of ancient Roman cities, composed of modular elements—insulae, the ancestors of today’s public housing blocks. Historical and archaeological traces found in the urban layout of colonies and military settlements across the Mediterranean make Insula a unifying and universal element that connects diverse geographical areas.
