ITA  Insula è un progetto di textile design sviluppato per Lanificio Leo, la più antica fabbrica tessile calabrese calabrese. Un pattern infinitamente componibile e replicabile, dove la scala dell’abitare domestico e quella dell’abitare urbano trovano sintesi  nell’intreccio tessile. Il motivo del plaid è ispirato al tessuto urbanistico delle antiche città romane, costituito da elementi modulari, le insule appunto, gli antenati dei contemporanei palazzi popolari. Testimonianze storiche e archeologiche nella trama urbana di colonie e insediamenti militari nel Mediterraneo, rendono Insula un elemento unificante ed universale che collega diverse aree geografiche.

ENG  Insula is a textile design project developed for Lanificio Leo, the oldest Calabrian textile factory in Calabria. An infinitely modular and repeatable pattern, where the scale of domestic living and that of urban living find a synthesis in the textile weave. The motif of the plaid is inspired by the urban fabric of ancient Roman cities, made up of modular elements, the insulae, the ancestors of contemporary popular buildings. Historical and archaeological evidence in the urban fabric of colonies and military settlements in the Mediterranean make Insula a unifying and universal element that connects different geographical areas.
